The Key Of G Demolished

This story (with a couple of words changed) first appeared June 12, 2013.

It’s a perfect example of … well, I’ll let YOU make the call. 🙂

Of note:  Rochelle Wisoff-In-F-Fields conducting.

On drums:  John Nixon, who posted this picture, thanks!

A one-a and-a two-a and-a three-a …

During his act with Harlequin and Pierrot, Bonzo fell flat … right into the piano keyboard after playing his favorite tune, “Allegro Molto, Choclo Molto.”

Suddenly, a man in black ran to the piano, reached over, grabbed at the two legs of the stuck Bonzo in the keyboard.  He pulled them apart.  Dummy legs!

Harlequin and Pierrot gasped.  “Who are you?”

He threw off his top hat. “It’s ME!  BONZO!”  He sat down, continued playing his favorite song.

Pierrot sighed.  “How did you do that?”

Bonzo continued playing.  “Boys, if you want a leg up on the competition, remember — get TWO!”

  2. Dear Cuzzin Notnek,

The old decoy maneuver, eh? Love the name of the tune. Never heard it before but might be worth sipping into. 😉

    And awaaay we go.

Oh! Yes….two legs are always better than one! 🙂

  7. Ha.. yes, competitiveness among jesters and clowns is well known… Love the legs, I guess that audience will pay an arm and a leg even to see him perform.

  8. This made me laugh – great title!

  9. rgayer55 says:

I thought of the Marx Brothers when reading this. Great post, BONZO!

I know, but when you have limited time and have to pull a story out of …well, a certain place where the sun don’t shine, what are ya gonna do? 😀

  15. plaridel says:

    bonzo had a point. 🙂

  16. Music AND a magic trick — that is genius! After all, if you can only do one thing, like be a doctor, they only come when they’re sick.

  17. mickwynn2013 says:

Great take, I enjoyed the humour and the cleverness of the concept

  18. gahlearner says:

  20. Margaret says:

Choclo molto? One of my favourite tunes. Bonzo’s quite the illusionist. Funny story.

    • wmqcolby says:

      Hahaha! Thanks, Margaret.
Actually, the “choclo motto” was stolen — I mean, “appropriated” from Danny Kaye, which I thought was a super clever thing to put into an otherwise crazier than fiction story. Glad you enjoyed it.

  21. It was new to me also. What a wild and crazy guy. It looks like a great disappearing and reappearing act. Well done, Kent. 🙂 — Suzanne

  22. That was very, very funny!
    Nicely done, Kent!
